NEW THIS YEAR: The Barb Melzer Award

The Barb Melzer Award serves as a tribute to the late and distinguished Dr. Barb Melzer, PhD, DPT.  Barb was a strong individual who had a passion for mentorship at all levels.  Her mentorship included supporting professional development for many different cohorts: students in entry level and advanced physical therapy programs, colleagues seeking guidance for professional growth and sometimes life changing steps in their careers, and in her professional roles with the TPTA and APTA that centered around standards of careclinical education, ethics, and excellence in Physical Therapy.  Barb was a warmcompassionate, and caring individual with a kind heart and inclusion towards all people.  Above all, Barb was the consummate professional who dedicated her career to guiding others and advancing the physical therapy profession.
