In 2023, 2 million Americans are expected to be diagnosed with cancer. These survivors will undergo cancer treatments that cause significant side effects & lasting functional impairments that require skilled physical therapy interventions. However, most physical therapists lack the appropriate knowledge to treat cancer survivors confidently & competently. 1 CCU 

At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Understand basic information about cancer treatments & their side effects;
2. Identify common impairments associated with cancer & its treatment:
3. Understand how physical therapy helps patients experiencing these side effects & impairments.

Dr. Elise K. Cantu, PT, has dedicated her career to helping others live better beyond a cancer diagnosis.Dr. Cantu is the director of Fort Worth Cancer Care, a private oncology rehab clinic in Fort Worth, Texas. She is also the host of TheOncoPT Podcast, where she educates other physical therapists how to treat people with cancer more confidently & competently.Dr. Cantu works as an adjunct professor in the Kinesiology department at Texas Christian University. She also serves as a consultant for Brylan’s Feat Foundation & Pediatric Lymphedema Alliance.Dr. Cantu earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Texas Christian University in 2015 & her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Texas State University in 2018. She earned her board certification as an oncologic clinical specialist in 2021.

CCUs are only issued to PTs and PTAs. In order to receive credit, you must be present for the full course. After the course complete the course evaluation by 4/30/2023. Link to the evaluation in is your confirmation email. You must follow all instructions, including completing registration.
