The Integrated Clinical Dry Needling Course 1 presented by Revolution Human Education, provides clinicians with an understanding of the history of dry needling, dry needling mechanisms, evidence for the utilization of dry needling, needle handling and safety, pain education, and clinical application and utilization of dry needling techniques. The course will also cover specific rules and regulations specific to the state of the course. Additionally, participants will be able to integrate the basics of pain sciences into their clinical practices. All participants will review trigger points, patient positioning, relevant anatomy including vasculature, nervous tissue, and viscera, and dry needle techniques and needle handling for all listed muscles. 22.5CCUs At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to: Speaker(s) Patrick Cook, PT, OCS, SCS, FAAOMPT received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University in 2005. While at LSU, he trained under strength coaches Tommy Moffitt and Scott Cochran as a strength staff intern from 2004-2005 and received his certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certificationin 2007. He went on to LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana to earn his Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2007. In 2010, he became Board Certified in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (OCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He received his initial training and certification in dry needling in 2013 where he began to incorporate those techniques into his practice. For advanced clinical training he completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy through Regis University in Denver, CO from 2014-2015. In 2015, he was accepted as a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT). After extensive training in emergency management of sports injuries and over 10 years of sideline experience, Patrick received his Board Certification in Sports Physical Therapy (SCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in 2019. Patrick has significant experience in the regulatory aspects of physical therapy. From 2014-2015, he served on the advisory committee to the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board (LPTB). He was appointed as a member to the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board by Governor Bobby Jindal in 2015 for a three-year term in which he was elected Board Chairman in 2017. His service ended in 2018 and he now serves on the Legislative Action Committee for the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association. Patrick has over 15 years of clinical experience in both private practice and hospital based outpatient physical therapy clinics working with the general public, weekend warriors, and professional level athletes.
