Technology is healthcare is rapidly expanding to all areas of patient care. Telehealth is the use of electronic communication to remotely provide health care information and services. This 2-hour introduction to telehealth will give attendees a basic understanding of telehealth including the different models of technology, options for use in practice, practice issues addressed by telehealth, options of types of platforms, and general rules and regulations as it pertains to physical therapy. This two hour course will enable the participant to understand and immediately integrate current best evidence in telehealth into physical therapy practice. 2CCUs

At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to:
1. At the end of the course, the learner will be able to understand and define telehealth.
2. At the end of the course, the learner will be able to understand and define the three mains models of telehealth technology used today.
3. At the end of the course, the learner will summarize their respective state’s Physical Therapy Board Practice Act requirements to practice telehealth.
4. At the end of the course, the learner will be able to communicate ways to integrate telehealth into physical therapy practice.

Mark Milligan, PT, DPT, Cert TPS, Cert APHPT, OCS, FAAOMPTDr. Mark Milligan, PT, DPT, is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic manual therapist that specializes in the intelligent prevention and treatment of all human conditions. He is a full-time clinician and Founder of Revolution Human Physical Therapy and Education, a concierge physical therapy and micro-education company in Austin, Texas. In the fight to end the physical barrier to access healthcare, he founded Anywhere Healthcare, an all-inclusive telehealth platform. He is an active member of the TPTA, APTA, and AAOMPT and is the immediate past Capital Area District Chair for the Texas Physical Therapy Association and has great interest in public health, population health, and governmental affairs.
