strong>Shaunda Kwiatek, PT, DPT is Director of Clinical Education
at Kilgore College, Tom Waugh Leadership Fellow, and current Chair for East
Texas District of TPTA. Shaunda received her undergraduate education at T
exas A&M University, College Station, and Doctorate of Physical Therapy
with the inaugural class of 2010 at Texas Woman’s University, Dallas. She
started as a Physical Therapist in Longview at CORE, then transitioned to
Tyler with New Dimensions Rehabilitation where she concluded her tenure as
Clinic Manager. Shaunda also spent some time working prn for local clinics
in settings including outpatient, home health, long term acute care, skill
ed nursing, and pediatrics. Throughout her eight-year clinical career, Sha
unda mentored or was a CI for nearly 20 PT/PTA students prior to accepting
the DCE position at Kilgore College, and has worked closely with PTAs at ne
arly all facilities. Shaunda was inducted as a Tom Waugh Leadership Fellow
in October 2021. Her Tom Waugh project focused on improving awareness of
the PTA role in Texas in order to increase utilization of PTAs and enhance
PT/PTA teams across the state.
