Volunteer Opportunities

Many of the TPTA districts need help with managing numerous areas on the local level.  Areas could include Government Affairs, Membership recruitment/retention, course recruitment and execution, Public Relations.  Commitment could be short project to extended service.

Government Affairs

The Government Affairs Committee has 5 main sub-committees which include Scope of Practice; Non-Scope (Other Professions Focus); PAC Fundraising; Federal Affairs & Key Contacts Program.  Volunteers are needed for periodic short assignments to extended projects.

The Membership Committee has 5 areas of focus:  PTA Membership Recruitment & Retention; New Professionals (licensed 5 years or less); Facilities (in conjunction with APTA's Facility Challenge); Districts; and Student & Faculty.  Volunteers are needed for ongoing projects related to any one of these focuses.

The Practice Committee has two main areas - Practice Management and Scope of Practice.  Volunteers are needed to help in these two areas for either a short term project or ongoing involvement.

Professional Development

The Professional Development committee needs volunteers for course recruitment and review (mainly for webinar offerings).  The Professional Development committee is also overseeing a TPTA History Project and could use volunteers to help catalog and archive TPTA documents, photos, etc.

Public Relations

The Public Relations committee needs assistance with promoting the "Move Forward" program at the local and state-wide level.  They also need assistance with representatives being available at various events that promote physical therapy, Move Forward and the TPTA.

Please contact TPTA Staff if you are interested in volunteering with TPTA.
